This is such a CRITICAL feature. The ability to assign more than (1) action to a button, given a modifier, is a MUST HAVE!
I've had to resort to trying to get Better Touch Tool to work with the unrecognizable mouse buttons. The workaround is cumbersome and a poor user experience.
For example, I want to be able to use the back/forward buttons as-is, but when I hold CMD ⌘ I want to trigger another action. Such as, moving between spaces (which is a big loss when moving from trackpad to mouse).
