Urgent Feedback for MX Mechanical Mini: Backlight is Unreliable (Flickering & Stays On Too Long)
Hello Logitech Team,
I am writing to provide specific feedback on the "Smart Backlighting" for the MX Mechanical Mini.
My issue is not that the backlight fails to turn on. My room is dark, and it does turn on. The problem is that its behavior is extremely unreliable and frustrating:
It stays on too long: The backlight often does not turn off even when my hands are far away from the keyboard. This suggests the proximity sensor is far too sensitive and is being triggered incorrectly, draining the battery.
It flickers constantly: In my low-light room, the backlight often flickers on and off. This indicates the ambient light sensor is "on the edge" of its light/dark threshold and cannot make a stable decision.
The current "smart" logic is simply not smart; it's inconsistent and distracting.
My Ideal Solution (Please Read):
What I (and many users) truly want is the "wired mode" behavior, but in wireless mode.
When connected via USB cable, all the smart sensors are disabled, and the backlight only activates upon a physical key press. This is perfect.
Please give us a new mode in Logi Options+ called "Key Press Activation Only" (or similar). This mode should:
Disable the Ambient Light Sensor.
Disable the Proximity (Hand) Sensor.
Activate the backlight only when a key is physically pressed.
We are perfectly willing to accept the battery trade-off for this simple, reliable functionality. Thank you.
