Focus on the Hardware not the Software
I use the early access logi+ softwre, and joined the smart actions beta the other day. I use a MacBook Pro, and there are tons of ways to automate things on MacOS and I use several (and have tried even more). I use an Anywhere Mouse MX 2 (my favorite), an Anywhere Mouse MX 2S (as far as I can tell the only difference is software based), and an Anywhere Mouse MX 3 (which is actually my least favorite). I was disappointed that the 2S was more expensive only to include a software function that extremely inferior to other products out there that can do the exact same thing, much better. I feel that this smart actions is exactly the same way. If your looking to implement automations do it with a system that was specifically designed for that. I will admit that the very basic logi options (now logi+) has some good functionality that I do enjoy, such as picking my scroll direction, pointer speed and acceleration, and select which buttons do what. I use it in a very limited way and find it helpful, however, there is not a single capability that I use in logi options that isn't natively available in MacOS preferences. Additionally, there are 3rd party options that are not limited to logitech products but work well with them that have far greater capabilities than logi options. Also, I have had issues at times with logi options being unreliable and crashing (specifically when I sleep/unsleep my MBP). A simple kill of the old program or start/restart fixes the problem. Some of the functionality of logi+ also works less well than the non logi+ options. For example, i can get a rough percentage of my batter in my control center (its really like 1 - 10, the percent seems to always be 80%, 70%, etc), but that is very useful. Logi+ is supposed to alert me with a low battery notification and it does, about a minute after my mouse is completely dead, literally the mouse stops working, I'm looking for a charging cable and the notification pops up as I am plugging it in.
When I bought the Anywhere Mouse MX 2, I was so very impressed by its ability to operate well on any surface, I was happy with it's battery life, the fact that it was lightweight, it's ability to connect to 3 different devices (i only use bluetooth, so i can't say much about the unified adapter), I was very happy with scroll wheel.
I really hope that Logitech, puts as much of its effort into developing great hardware, rather than trying to be a software company. Logitech excells at creating great hardware. Not to be rude but frankly Logitechs software is totally unneeded, potentially usable but brings absolutely nothing special to the products, is lightyears away from the other software available.
Please, stop trying to make software, just continue to develop your hardware, which is what will drive sales, and it's what you do best.
