The default "Application specific" settings are not good. They prevent swipe functions from not working. It took me longest time to figure this out. Deleted all default apps and now gesture center button navigation on MX3 mice works fine. I don't think you should by default enable some customization for popular apps because they are clearly conflicting with the default settings like gesture controls.
