I have a K540 Keyboard (and associated mouse, along with your Brio camera. Plugged them all into the back of my monitor. USB cable goes to the computer. With that setup, the mouse and keyboard would periodically drop offline. Once I plugged the Brio directly into the computer the Keyboard and mouse stopped dropping offline.

When the dongle was plugged directly into the computer with one or two thumb drives were installed, the mouse and keyboard would drop offline. Dongle only plugged into the back of the monitor is the only configuration i found that consistently works
